On the goodship Lollypop

I have so much to catch you all up on.

Condensed version:

- a really, really mean, scary, asshole kid at school got into an incident with me that left me in tears. And then was promptly suspended.

- my thesis imploded, exploded and left shrapnel in several of my limbs. I sobbed and then moved on with life. Please, no one ever mention the t-word again.

- I went home for Easter and ate shit tons of candy.

- My mom's family went shit tons of crazy over the weekend and managed to ruin my mom's Easter from 1700 miles away.

- My mom is obsessing over her brother's betrayal and was driving me crazy by bringing it up every two seconds.

- I'm on spring break this week and currently sitting in the lounge area of the women's bathroom at the Union with two sleeping strangers on the other couches.

- I'm at the student union because I had a job fair today.

- I'm not hired yet, but I have several good leads.

- The principal from my hometown school said he'd hire me, no questions asked, even if they'd already hired somebody else. I would teach English 10, which is a writing class with ABSOLUTELY NO READING. NO LITERATURE EVER. Because he hates literature.

- When I picked my jaw off the ground, I thought for a moment that I was marginally impressed with the Warden's honesty. (We called him the Warden in high school. Terrifying man. I could never, ever work for him)

- I'm now exhausted and cannot wait to get out of this damn suit. I hate wearing suits. It makes me feel yucky and I look like Ellen Degeneres.

- My teaching friends determined that half the reason I look so youthful (aka, appear to be 15 years old) is my little golden curls. Wonderful.

- I'm exhausted and am going home to sleep for hours and hours before my award interview tonight.

- I'm graduating with high distinction, am a Superior Scholar and have been chosen as one of two Outstanding Seniors in my college. I'm hoping that's enough to compensate for my utter failure in the honors program (aka, not finishing my t-word). Someday, I'm going to be good enough.
