But not today! No work for me and thank God for that. The last two days of work were hellacious. I would recount them, but I'm trying to forget. I'm going to spend the morning cleaning our incredibly dirty house, go do a little shopping, and then hang out with my dear, dear J for the afternoon. The old gang has plans for tonight and tomorrow so it should be a pretty good holiday weekend. The house is dirty because I have been out of town every weekend for the last month. I usually clean the kitchen, living room, dining room and Libby and I's bathroom on the weekends - I'm too tired and lazy and busy to do it during the week. Since I was out of town so much you'd think my roommates would take up the slack right? No. NM doesn't because she picks up after herself and the remaining messes are not her problem. Libby doesn't because Libby doesn't pick up after herself to begin with. There is a pile of dirty dishes in the sink and pots on the stove that have been there since Tuesday. NM and I have run out of things to eat on because Libby uses them and then doesn't wash them. I ate my cereal out of a Cool Whip bowl this morning with a plastic spoon. In the first month of our living together, I went ahead and put Libby's dishes in the dishwasher if I was doing them anyway, figuring that she would do the same for me if I happened to leave mine in there. Nope. She just continued to never do her dishes. We did make a step forward the other day. She started the dishwasher. Mind you, there were still dishes she had just dirtied sitting in the sink RIGHT NEXT TO THE WASHER that could have easily fit in the washer, but let's not split hairs. Ugh. You can just tell she was coddled by her parents. Our bathroom is disgusting - make up is ALL over the sink and counter (and I mean all over, I had to change my shirt the other day because I accidentally leaned against the edge of the counter and got mascara all over it), she apparently tries to spit her toothpaste onto the faucet, and her shit is everywhere. Her shit is everywhere in general and she never turns off lights so shuts the back gate behind her when she leaves at midnight to go shack at her boyfriend's house. I'm bitching and complaining, but seriously! She's a slob and she still hasn't paid me for the Internet or gas bills! I paid those a MONTH ago. We are very good friends and I knew she was sheltered as a child, but seriously, it's time to grow up, quit being spoiled and clean up after yourself. We're only living together for three more weeks until I move 500 miles away. I'd like to still be friends when I leave. That might depend on if she does those God damn dishes when she gets back from her weekend trip. I am NOT doing them. I am going to clean around them today. So there. |
