2009-03-26 - 7:23 p.m. Back from vacation! Barely made it, too. Our flight was canceled in the wee hours of the morning, so when my sister called at 7 AM to interrupt my light hungover dozing in Vegas, we packed up and headed to the airport for a long day of standby. It was ridiculous. I got home 20 minutes ago, but it wasn't so bad. What is with the weather in the country right now?! I was swimming outdoors yesterday and I come home to 8 inches of snow! My vacation in Vegas was lovely. I loved it, even though RD was a big sad, sick, negative nancy the entire time. Seriously, what an enormous party pooper. It was like she was trying to have a bad time. For example, I realize waiting in an airport/airplane all day is not that much fun, but come on! The only things coming out of her mouth were "We're not going to make it" "We're going to get stuck here" "We may be on the plane, but they're just going to make us sit here then get off and be stuck" "I told you we wouldn't take off" "Now we're waiting again, we should just get a hotel room" "Yeah, we're back on the plane, but we're never going to take off" "Even if we take off, we'll just circle the airport back home and then turn around". It was after that last comment that I'd had enough. Smier, the other friend we went with, joined in on the gentle teasing, calling her a wet blanket. Which she totally was. She got pissed and would barely talk to us the rest of the day. She is incredibly passive aggressive, I found out this trip. She'll smile and call you sweetie, but there's this look in her eyes that says "I'm going to kill you later". Honestly, I'm entirely annoyed with her. Way to go on a vacation and deliberately not have fun. Jerk. At least I got to know Smier better; she's a fun person and it's always nice to have more friends. Especially when the person you're closest to where you live has been a negative, grouchy person for the last several months. Later I'll have to go on and on about what we did in lovely Las Vegas (I loved it! I'm surprised, too, it doesn't seem like my kind of town), but for now I need to unpack and take a nap. My sleep was uninterrupted and short last night. |
